2021 Reel Awards Key Dates Announcement

Happy Monday everyone!

With many of “awards season” films getting dates in the past few weeks and with a ton of news about how the 2022 awards season, I think today is the best time to announce that I have locked down details for my 2022 Annual Reel Awards.

First things first, due to an extended 2021 awards season, the eligibility period for Reel Awards consideration will be abbreviated to March 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2021. Films whose production or distribution were impacted by the ever-present pandemic will be consistent with last year’s rules, which can be found here. Complete 2022 Reel Awards rules will be announced later this month. These rules will be implemented as long as the pandemic still occurs.

Reel Awards key dates are as follows:

  • Monday, October 4th, 2021        Eligible Film List Published
  • Friday, October 8th, 2021           Patron Nominee Voting Begins
  • Thursday, October 14th, 2021    All Access Nominee Voting Begins
  • Friday, December 31st, 2021      Eligibility Period Ends
  • Monday, January 3rd, 2022        Nominations Voting Ends
  • Thursday, January 6th, 2022      Nominations Announced
  • Friday, January 7th, 2022            Patron Final Voting Begins
  • Thursday, January 15th, 2022    All Access Final Voting Begins
  • Monday, February 7th, 2022       Final Voting Ends
  • Saturday, March 5th, 2022          Reel Awards Ceremony

All dates for the 2022 Reel Awards are subject to change.

The 2022 Reel Awards will be held on Saturday, March 5th, 2022, live across Facebook, Instagram, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube.
