High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Season Three’s First Trailer Gives off Heavy High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock Vibes

Earlier this week, Disney+ revealed the key art and trailer for the third season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which will premiere on the streaming platform on Wednesday, July 27th. Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family and Tony-winning Broadway star) and JoJo Siwa have been cast in guest star roles. The series is created and executive-produced by Tim Federle (Ferdinand, Better Nate Than Ever). Like the two seasons that came before, not only will the third season focus on the production of a musical (Frozen, this time), but it will feature music from both the High School Musical and Camp Rock franchises.

Watch the trailer below.

This season will follow the Wildcats to Camp Shallow Lake, a sleepaway camp in California, as both Wildcast and fellow campers alike will experience a summer to remember with romance, zero curfews, and the great outdoors. Meanwhile, Camp Shallow Lake’s production of Frozen proves to be the highest-stake production yet for the Wildcats, with a docu-series of the production in the works, as they attempt to show who is “best in snow” without leaving anyone in the cold.

After his first-ever Tony Award win for “Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play” in a revival of playwright Richard Greenberg’s Take Me Out, Jesse Ferguson will play Marvin, an old family friend of Olivia Rodrigo’s character, Nini.

Superstar, entrepreneur, singer, television and film star, New York Times bestselling author, and social media influencer, JoJo Siwa will play Madison, a Camp Shallow Lake alum.

In addition to Ferguson and Siwa’s guest appearances, the stars of the third season include Joshua Bassett as Ricky, Sofia Wylie as Gina, Matt Cornett as E.J., Julia Lester as Ashlyn, Dara Reneé as Kourtney, Frankie Rodriguez as Carlos, Saylor Bell Curda as Maddox, and Adrian Lyles as Jet. The recurring guest stars this season are Corbin Bleu as himself, Meg Donnelly as Val, Jason Earles as Dewey Wood, Kate Reinders as Miss Jenn, Aria Brooks as Alex, Liamani Segura as Emmy, Ben Stillwell as Channing, and Olivia Rodrigo as Nini as well as guest stars Olivia Rose Keegan as Lily, Larry Saperstein as Big Red and Joe Serafini as Seb.

Seasons one and two of High Schoo Musical: The Musical: The Series are available to stream on Disney+, as well as two specials and a sing-along version of the first season. And don’t worry - the Wildcats have been greenlit for a fourth season!

Keep your eyes peeled for my weekly reviews, starting with the first episode of season three on July 27th.

Until next time!
