My EA Play Live Predictions

We've seen the first games for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, Ghost of Tsushima, Unreal Engine 5, Mafia Trilogy, Valorant, a whole host of indie games, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the PS5 itself, Star Wars: Squadrons, and New Pokemon Snap.

Tonight, we're all going to see new things from EA including the aforementioned Star Wars: Squadrons, so I thought I'd take some time today before the stream to forecast what I believe Electronic Arts and the studios it owns will show on stream.

EA revealed Motive Studio's Star Wars game on Monday, and the publisher since confirmed that we'd see gameplay of the game at tonight's EA Play, so this is an easy one.

I can't wait to see what Motive Studios has been working on and how close it is (or isn't) to the Rogue Squadron games of old.

Apex Legends

Apex Legends is one of the biggest battle royale games on the market right now and one of EA's biggest first-person shooters in recent years. I'd wager that the game will gain crossplay support to prepare players for its launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, mobile (even if its just a beta) and Nintendo Switch.

EA Sports

As per usual, expect the EA Sports division to showcase the graphical fidelity of Madden NFL 21, FIFA 21, NHL 21, EA Sports UFC 4 on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles along with the obligatory updates to FIFA Mobile and Madden NFL Mobile.

EA Originals

Expect Glowmade's RustHeart to show up with gameplay and possibly a release date. Hazelight will also show up with whatever unique take Josef Fares has on couch co-op this time. Zoink is likely to show up with a trailer for Lost in Random.

Wild Cards

I'm not certain, but I think we'll see whatever Capital Games and PopCap (probably Peggle 3, but I doubt it) has been working on, maybe a look at Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond game from Respawn, the Star Wars mobile game Rise to Power that was in pre-alpha quite a bit ago, a bunch of Switch ports, possibly a look at the mobile Skate 3 port and Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered.

Updates to Existing Games

I'd imagine this will just be a sizzle reel or something uploaded after that fact, but EA does like to update their games frequently, so I expect EA to talk about Need for Speed: Heat, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and possibly Command & Conquer: Rivals.

So, hopefully your expectations have been set accordingly. I don't usually do these kinds of things but I think EA always puts on a good show, if nothing else. See you soon!
