The Book of Boba Fett Will Be Released on Disney+ December 29
We're about to get more Star Wars this year.
Disney+ announced that The Book of Boba Fett - the series teased in the end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian - will premiere on Wednesday, December 29, exclusively on Disney's streaming service, Disney+. Temura Morrison will reprise his role.
Meanwhile, season three of The Mandalorian is expected to debut sometime in 2022 (probably late October or early November, based on previous seasons' premiere dates).
The Book of Boba Fett will focus on Boba Fett and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) and how they will form their own syndicate in a world without Jabba the Hunt.
The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and executive producer Dave Filoni will also serve as executive producers on The Book of Boba Fett, alongside Robert Rodriguez, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck are co-exec producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.
The Book of Boba Fett will be the second live-action Star Wars series on Disney+. Also in the works is an Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) limited series as well as two other Mandalorian spinoffs, Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic. Disney plans to air 10 Star Wars series in the next several years.
This marks the 3rd Star Wars series on Disney+.
Disney+ also shared the series' key art. See it below.
