The Tribeca Festival recently announced its lineup of Talks and Reunions, featuring exciting conversations with some familiar names and faces. The Storytelling Series will include Paul McCartney chatting with Conan O'Brien on an episode of Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend, John Mellencamp with David Letterman, Lin-Manuel Miranda with Rosie Perez, Chance the Rapper, Billy Porter, and Hailee Steinfeld. Gov Ball and Tribeca will also host an event called Gov Ball x Tribeca with music producer Diplo.

The Directors Series, presented by City National Bank, will feature conversations between David Fincher and Steven Soderbergh, and Patty Jenkins with director and actress Katie Holmes. Reunions are also a big part of the festival, with Kevin Sullivan and Angela Bassett reuniting for the 25th anniversary of How Stella Got Her Groove Back. Other Reunions include Mario Van Peebles, Michael Michele, and Fab 5 Freddy returning for New Jack City, Charlie Ahearn, Lee Quiñones, Fab 5 Freddy, and Grand Wizzard Theodore for the 40th anniversary of Wild Style.

The third annual Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award will be presented to Academy Award-winning actor, producer, author, and activist Jane Fonda. The award recognizes the use of storytelling to change the artists' community and is an original drawing from artist Julie Mehretu entitled Exodus #3, presented by legendary musician Alicia Keys. The two previous recipients were American politician, lawyer, voting rights activist, author Stacey Abrams and American rapper, activist, and actor Common. Fonda will also discuss her career in film and life as an activist with the anchor of ABC's Good Morning America, Robin Roberts.

Harry inspired countless artists to use their fame and talent in the name of justice. He led by example and was a fearless warrior for civil rights. Jane Fonda, this year's recipient of the Harry Belafonte Voices for Social Justice Award, shares Harry’s indefatigable commitment to activism. We are honored to have established this award in Harry’s name to honor his ongoing legacy.”

Lastly, the festival will include Master Classes - free events that encourage participants to learn from film industry veterans on various aspects of the filmmaking process - including a class on fact-checking with members of The New Yorker's fact-checking department, a presentation on genre filmmaking with Mike Flanagan, and a class on the role of the talent representative.
