Tribeca Festival Announces the Return of the Music Lounge and Additional Programming
Tribeca Festival announced today the return of the Music Lounge in addition to additional programming.
The second annual Music Lounge will take place at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn and will run for four days and nights of performances, guest appearances, insider talks, and more. For those curious, Tubi is sponsoring the Tribeca Music Lounge this year, which is open to the public from June 8th to June 11th.
The first night features artists Tei Shi, Tony or Tony, and a D.J. set by Frost Children. Night Two at the Tribeca Music Lounge features a musical performance by David Duchovny before the premiere of his film Bucky F*cking Dent. The third night features the first U.S. performance by Jitwam, an R&B performance by Eddie Chacon, and an Iranian showcase featuring artists such as LuNika - a brother-sister duo who wrote the Iranian protest song "Women Life Freedom" - Habibi and Sussan Deyhim. That same night, the cast of Mountains is doing a stand-up set following the film's world premiere. Earlier in the day, Ali Dee is taking place in a conversation about soundtracks with film composers of films premiering at Tribeca 2023 in partnership with BMI.
Tribeca 2023 will also feature free programming such as Drag Story Hour - an afternoon where Drag Story Hour NYC and Tribeca tell banned stories and sing banned songs for children of all ages. Other programming includes a screening of the 2008 documentary Planet B-Boy, which features a post-film discussion with Ken Swift, a Master Class on independent film rights, and a screening of the 2004 animated film Shark Tale.
