After being nominated for Best British Film at the 2021 BAFTA, receiving six 2020 British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) nominations, with Ahmed winning Best Debut Screenwriter, winning the 41st London Critics’ Circle Film Award for British/Irish Actor of the Year (for body of work) for performances including Zed, Mogul Mowgli is going to be premiering in the United States at the Film Forum beginning Friday, September 3rd.

Mogul Mowgli is Bassam Tariq’s narrative feature film debut, an exploration of heritage and identity. Coming off his historic Academy Award Best Actor nomination for Sound of Metal, Ahmed stars as Zed, a British Pakistani rapper on the cusp of his first world tour. But, struck down by an illness that threatens to derail his big break, he’s forced to confront his past, his family, and the uncertainty of his legacy.

Until next time!
